Solar Halo at 32,000 Feet
When I fly I always sit by the window and I have a camera with me. There always seems to be something that will catch my eye. This flight was no different. This is the first time I had seen a halo from the air. What caught my eye was the ray pointing down to Earth. It only took a little research to find that it was a sun pillar. I had imaged them many times from the ground but not from the air. Look at the images Solar Light and Winter Light to see them from the ground.
